As part of his keynote speech today at the Samsung Developer Conference, SmartThings CEO Alex Hawkinson did a live demo to introduce how SmartThings works to the 4,500 people in attendance. Today at the Samsung Developer Conference, SmartThings is unveiling its Samsung Smart Home. This four-room, 1720-square-foot house is the centerpiece of the conference's main floor and highlights a few of the many possibilities available in a SmartThings home today, as well as some exciting new integrations that will be available soon. After delivering a speech at this year's Web Summit in Dublin, SmartThings CTO, Jeff Hagins, shows CNN how he's integrated more than 100 connected devices with his SmartThings Hub, and explains why he hates the term "Internet of Things."

As Alison and her boyfriend Jeff have increased their living space, they've also enhanced their SmartThings setup.
