  1. How is the Hue light being controlled, IFTTT?

    • The Hue bridge can be accessed locally through REST HTTP calls. But Hue integration can be taken much further, including color changes and dimming – you might want to check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=czq3S13tGVk.

    • We have direct control of the Hue bulb with SmartThings.

      • And I should note that the Local LAN connection between SmartThings and Hue is not yet public but being released soon.

        • Ahhhhh, dare you use technology not publically available! Man I have been waiting for this piece of integration for some time! How will we know when it is released will the ST application just have a new icon?

          • We’ll announce it – it seems you stay pretty up to date, but be sure to follow us on Facebook, sign up for our mailing list (from the SmartThings homepage), and of course, this blog!

          • One other question. When the ST control of the Hue light is finally released will the ST hub be speaking directly to the lights? Or ST Hub > Hue Hub > hue lights? I’m trying to determine if I can get rid of this Philips Hue hub.

  2. SmartThings Lab link no longer works, any chance of getting an updated link for how to set this up?
