SmartThings Arrives in the UK and Ireland

After a long swim across the pond, we’re happy to announce that SmartThings has now landed in the UK and Ireland!

UK-launch-blog-kit-bStarting today, September 10, the SmartThings Hub (£99), individual SmartThings sensors, and a brand-new SmartThings Starter Kit (£199) will be available across hundreds of Currys PC World stores, as well as online at Currys.co.uk and Samsung.com.

The new SmartThings Starter Kit contains everything you need to monitor, control, and secure your home from anywhere–including a Hub, Multi Sensor, Motion Sensor, Presence Sensor, and Power Outlet. SmartThings is also compatible with hundreds of popular connected products from brands like Philips hue, Bose, Samsung, Honeywell, Yale, and more.

So whether you’re in the Highlands, on the Tube, or anywhere in between, it’s never been easier to stay in control of your home from the palm of your hand.

  2. How exactly has this come to Ireland, when you cannot order it for delivery to Ireland, you can participate in the early adopters program, and currys in Ireland dont stick it.

  6. Bought one which arrived today…. Think it’s great. One thing that I am not too please about however having had a chat with your support this evening is that apparently the UK Service is currently blocking 3rd party OAUTH from cloud services. namely IFTTT, what this means is that if for example if you want your Hub’s events to trigger other actions external to the smarthings ecosystem it’s blocked! I would like to know what you are doing about this… It’s not the internet of somethings! It’s a new world out there and it’s an built on Open API’s.
