In an accompanying video to CNET’s product review of SmartThings, editor Ryan Crist offers a video walkthrough of the SmartThings Hub, family of sensors, and app. Check it out here.
Seems like this is more of an unboxing more so than a review. I feel he would had mentioned how the multi sensor temperature swings are wildly inaccurate, and mobile presence is pretty hit or miss if he had used it much.
Sorry to hear you’re frustrated, Cory. The editor does provide a two-page review of SmartThings and reports that “sensors performed very well in my tests, never failing to catch a trigger.” http://reviews.cnet.com/smart-home/smartthings-know-and-control/4505-9788_7-35833449.html
That said, we 100% want to make sure you’re having a good experience with SmartThings. If anything is going awry, please feel free to reach out to email@example.com and we’ll give you a hand ASAP.
I have documented these issues with support, and many others have reported the same problems on the Build forum. I even brought up the multi sensor issue among many others on a conference call with Smartthings, and the impression I got was it is a known issue with no solution yet found.
